Itinerary Days 1 - 3

Day 1

  • On arrival at Cape Town International Airport, you will be met by a Lion World Travel representative and transferred to One&Only Cape Town, overlooking the marina with panoramic views of Table Mountain. Situated in the city's Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, the hotel offers ease of access the beauty of the city along with top attractions.

  • Choose from one of the following options:

  • 1. NOBU SUSHI Masterclass: This is an exciting Masterclass where guests can learn how to prepare Nobu's signature dishes and enjoy sensational Sake pairings; presentation of Sake and other beverages by Nobu's Sommelier Team; souvenir take home recipe pack; and most importantly, members will dine at the sushi bar, having the hot dishes prepared and served to them.

  • 2. TURTLES OF THE TWO OCEANS: Get up close and personal with these much-loved creatures during this behind the-scenes experience in partnership with the Two Oceans Aquarium Education Foundation. The Foundation actively rescues, rehabilitates and releases stranded and distressed sea turtles as part of their conservation mission. Members will be able to assist with feeding, cleaning, and enrichment exercises.

Day 2

  • Depart on a full day Cape Peninsula tour including a cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain, to enjoy the magnificent views of the city and coast.

  • Drive along the exquisite stretch of coastline from Clifton to Camps Bay, towards the charming working harbor of Hout Bay and along the cliffs of Chapman's Peak Drive. After lunch, visit the Cape of Good Hope area of Table Mountain National Park. Ride the Flying Dutchman funicular to the old lighthouse for awe-inspiring views. Visit Simon's Town Boulders Beach African penguin colony before heading back to the hotel.

Day 3

  • Depart on your Robben Island tour as you are escorted by Christo Brand, Nelson Mandela's former prison warden on Robben Island, who will be your private guide for the tour. Hear the story of their extraordinary and close friendship that continued beyond the prison cell. On your return to the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, spend the rest of the day at leisure. Dinner and interactive drumming this evening is at Gold Restaurant. Enjoy a fourteen-course tasting menu featuring dishes from across the continent, and fun-filled interactive drumming, traditional dancers, face painting and Mali puppets.

Itinerary Days 4 - 6

Day 4

  • Drive with your guide in a private vehicle to the Grootbos Private Nature Reserve. Enjoy a set menu lunch at Grootbos Nature Reserve, then continue with the exciting experience of land-based whale watching from De Kelders cliff. In the late afternoon, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Cape Town.

Day 5

  • Depart with a driver-guide by Vintage Car for a full day Franschhoek Wine Experience Tour, including wine tasting, cellar tour and Sabrage demonstration at Haute Cabriere Winery. Later, enjoy an olive oil tasting at La Bourgogne Wine Farm followed by lunch, where the chef prepares the meal using farm-sourced ingredients. After lunch, enjoy leisure time in Franschhoek and an hour-long wine blending experience at Rickety Bridge Winery, from where you can leave with a bottle of wine. Later you will transfer to your hotel in Cape Town.

Day 6

  • Transfer by private vehicle to Cape Town Airport for your flight to Hoedspruit, where you will be met and transferred to Kapama Karula Lodge. The villas feature wrap-around glass sliding doors that open onto an outside deck area with stunning views and your own heated pool. This is a prime wildlife viewing area with panoramic views. Twice daily game drives are offered, one in the early morning and one in the later afternoon.

Itinerary Days 7 - 9

Day 7

  • Depart with your experienced ranger and tracker team on your early morning and late afternoon game drives. During your stay at Kapama Karula Lodge, you will have the opportunity to experience a Lion's Den Romantic Sleep Out Experience for one night.

  • Accommodation: Kapama Karula Lodge


Day 8

  • Enjoy another day of wilderness experience. Halfway through the game drive, there's a stop for hot drinks and snacks, before returning to the lodge for a full breakfast and time to relax. During your stay at Kapama, enjoy a specially curated private bush lunch experience that's not to be missed. In the late afternoon everyone gathers for a decadent high tea, before heading out for the afternoon game drive through the reserve with a stop for a drink as the sun sets over wide open plains.

Day 9

  • Transfer to Hoedspruit Airport for your flight to Johannesburg. You will be met and transferred by private vehicle to the Melrose Arch Hotel, well situated in Johannesburg's Melrose Arch area with its variety of trendy retail shops and leisure amenities.

Itinerary Days 10 - 12

Day 10

  • Transfer by private vehicle to Johannesburg's OR Tambo International Airport for your regional flight to Victoria Falls, where you will be met and transferred to Victoria Falls River Lodge – Island Treehouse Suite. This luxury lodge is situated on the banks of the Zambezi River – so close to Victoria Falls one can see the spray in the distance! The luxury tents are built upon raised decks, with a comfortable sitting area, indoor and outdoor showers, and a private viewing deck with plunge pool where you can sit comfortably and watch the hippos wallowing. Enjoy a daily sunrise or sunset cruise, bird watching the more than 400 species and get a different view of the animals from the Tree Hide.

Day 11

  • Depart on a guided walking tour of Victoria Falls, through the rain forest. A visit to the iconic Victoria Falls is an awe-inspiring experience, filled with the incredible sights and sounds the beautiful area has to offer. Enjoy a sunrise or sunset river cruise, followed by a unique South African a la carte meal riverside.

Day 12

  • Cap off your adventure with a river cruise or a nature drive. Post breakfast, transfer by road to Victoria Falls Airport for your regional flight to Johannesburg to connect with your departure flight back home.

Pricing on these safaris includes airfares, fuel surcharges, Government taxes, departure fees, and September 11th Security fee. ​Travel to Africa often requires an overnight flight. For safaris where international airfare is not included, please arrange flights to arrive on Day 1 of itinerary.

Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption, and Medical Insurance is required – please note that insurance for this trip is a mandatory requirement from suppliers in Africa – proof of insurance must be provided before bookings are confirmed. United States of America passport holders require visas for Kenya, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and Mozambique. Visas should be obtained prior to departure either on-line or from the relevant Embassy or High Commission in Washington DC. Visas on arrival will not be issued for Kenya.

Passports for visitors to South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Kenya and Tanzania must be valid for at least 6 months after the intended return date. Passports must contain at least 2 blank visa pages (each) for South Africa and Zimbabwe and 3 blank visa pages (each) for Tanzania, Kenya, and Mozambique.

Malaria is prevalent in the countries included in this itinerary. It is recommended to consult a doctor or travel clinic prior to travel regarding the appropriate precautions to take. Yellow fever vaccination is recommended prior to arrival in Tanzania and required if arriving within 6 days after leaving or transiting countries with risk of yellow fever transmission. Other vaccinations that might be considered before you travel include typhoid, hepatitis A and B, meningitis, and tetanus. Covid protocols and entry requirements are also in place for visitors to Africa. Requirements vary between countries. Please speak to your Africa Specialist for information specific to your itinerary.

If you are traveling to South Africa with a child/children under the age of 18 you must travel with an unabridged birth certificate, in English, even if both parents are traveling with the child(ren). Airlines will be forced to deny boarding if the required documentation is not produced.
