Nashville is for Foodies

Nashville’s dining scene has evolved far beyond hot chicken and honky-tonk staples into one of the most dynamic culinary destinations in the South. For Costco Travelers seeking flavor-driven experiences, the city delivers a global tasting tour where Peruvian ceviche, Indian-Southern fusion, coastal seafood, and chef-driven tasting menus coexist within a few vibrant neighborhoods. These ten restaurants were my favorites as they showcase community diversity, each offering a distinct lens into why Nashville has become a true foodie city.
Bastion
There’s a certain magic to an evening at the Michelin-starred Bastion, which is tucked into the creative enclave of Wedgewood-Houston - one of the city’s fastest-rising arts districts. Before dinner, you should explore nearby galleries or catch a live performance at Fort Negley, a Civil War-era landmark offering sweeping views of the city. Inside Bastion, the mood shifts to intimate and immersive, where a reservation unlocks a 24-seat tasting experience that feels more like a private event than a meal. The ever-evolving menu showcases inventive, seasonal dishes - delicate seafood, unexpected flavor pairings, and artful presentations. It’s a destination for couples and serious foodies who appreciate dining as an experience, not just an occasion.
Etch
In the heart of downtown, Etch sits just steps from the neon glow of Nashville’s Broadway entertainment district and the iconic Ryman Auditorium. Chef Deb Paquette’s globally inspired menu thrives in this energetic setting, with popular dishes such as her Roasted Cauliflower with Truffled Pea Purée, Salted Almonds, Feta Crema, Red Bell Essence - as well as the Pork Osso Bucco delivers bold, layered flavor. The dining space strikes a balance between upscale and inviting, making it a natural choice for date nights, business dinners, or travelers looking to elevate their downtown dining experience.
