More About Maui
When we think of Maui, we think of beaches and golf courses. It's true. World-renowned beaches line the shores of Maui, offering unobstructed views of the neighboring islands. It's breathtaking and awe-inspiring to even the seasoned visitor. Some top spots worth exploring include D.T. Fleming Beach, Ka'anapali Beach, Makena Beach, and Wailea Beach. As for the golf lover, pack your clubs because every resort area on Maui has a nearby course available. Outside of the beach and golf scene is a much larger island filled with natural beauty and wonder.
Iao Valley State Park is a top visitor destination in the Kahului area of Maui. This beautiful park is home to flowing streams, tropical valleys, and rocky peaks that shoot out of the valley floor. The star attraction at this park is the 1,200-foot-tall Iao Needle. The valley is often foggy, so it's best to make an early trek out to the park for the best viewing opportunities.
Another famous attraction is the infamous Road to Hana. Traveling to Hana is a day-long road trip comprised of 620 turns and 59 one-lane bridges. The landscape unfolds as you venture past Paia, a North Shore surf town, and head along the coast. As you make your way towards Hana, stop at the turnouts and snap some photos of secluded beaches, incredible tropical flora, and waterfall after waterfall. While in Hana, stop and grab a bite to eat before heading out towards the Pools of Oheo, where cascading waterfalls flow into tiered pools towards the sea.
No trip to Maui is complete without a stop at Haleakala National Park. Haleakala means "house of the sun" in Hawaiian and towering at 10,023 feet above sea level, we agree, the name fits beautifully. At sunrise, the first rays of morning reach out from the horizon and greet the day. At sunset, the endless night sky fills with stars as the sun plunges below the skyline.

Airport Check-In: It is recommended that you reconfirm your flight information and check in for your flights at the airline’s website 24 hours prior to your scheduled departure. Please bring all your final documents with you. It is important to arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes prior to departure for all domestic flights, and two to three hours prior to departure for international flights.
Required Documents: Passports are required for international travel. You will not be permitted to depart without necessary documentation. There may be additional requirements for international travel, such as vaccinations or visas, and some countries require that passports be valid for six months or longer beyond your stay in the country. Passport and entry requirements are subject to change at any time without notice. For the most current information on passport and entry requirements, please visit the Government of Canada official website at http://travel.gc.ca. Special travel documents are required for children traveling with or without their parents. If you are traveling with children, please check with the airline or cruise line prior to departure. If you are not a Canadian citizen, you must contact the consulate of the country you are visiting.
Newlywed Information: Tickets and other travel documents must exactly match your current passport and other identification. If not, you could be denied boarding and no refund will be forthcoming. For requirements and information regarding marriages performed in a foreign country, please visit the consulate of the particular country.
Honeymoon Packages: Some hotels require you to present a marriage certificate or licence for you to receive the honeymoon package. Please bring your marriage documentation with you if you are traveling on a honeymoon package.

Arriving: Onboard your aircraft, all visitors will be given a form from the Hawaii State Department of Agriculture, and the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau asking for information about their trip. This visitor information is used in tabulating visitor data. The agriculture information is necessary to maintain Hawaii’s delicate environment. The importation of uninspected plants and animals could ruin Hawaii’s paradise forever. A 120-day quarantine is required for most pets and a number of plants are restricted. For details, please consult your airline.
Departing: At the airport prior to check-in, travelers bound for mainland destinations will be required to pass their baggage through agriculture inspection. This brief procedure is designed to prevent travelers from exporting any uninspected local produce. Packaged produce, such as pineapple, is available for purchase at the airport or in designated stores on the island.
Duty Free/Customs: When returning to Canada the duty-free allowance may vary by country. Please visit https://travel.gc.ca/returning/customs for more information.
Travel Health Information: For the most current worldwide health information, consult your family physician or https://travel.gc.ca for advice and advisories.
General Safety Tips: By taking a few simple security precautions before and during your vacation, you can help ensure that you, your traveling companions, and your valuables are as safe and secure as possible.
- To make it easier to replace your passport if it’s lost or stolen, in addition to your passport, take a photocopy of your passport information page (keeping it separate from your actual passport).
- Carry only a limited amount of cash, just enough for gratuities and incidental purchases. Major credit cards are widely accepted and can be replaced if lost or stolen.
- Always lock your hotel room door (including patio and balcony door on any level of the building) and use the peephole before opening the door.
- Store your valuables (such as cash, credit cards and airline tickets) in the hotel’s in-room safe or front desk safety deposit box.
- If you must carry valuables on your person, do so in a pouch or money belt concealed under your clothing. Purses and backpacks can be easy targets for thieves.
