Overview

Florence offers a rich history of art and architectural marvels. The Piazza del Duomo is home to masterpieces by Donatello, Giotto, and Michelangelo, and nearby, explore Florence's Cathedral, the Duomo, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, and Giotto’s Bell Tower. The world’s largest collection of sculptures by Michaelangelo, like David, can be found at the Gallery of the Academy of Florence. The Uffizi Gallery showcases Italian paintings from the Renaissance period. Palazzo Pitti (Pitti Palace) offers five museums and the Giardino di Boboli, an historic park with gardens. Cross over the Arno River at the medieval bridge Ponte Vecchio. Since Roman times, the Piazza della Repubblica has been the central square of Florence, offering Italian goods and cafés to enjoy local flair.
